Clitbait is an intersectional feminist community and events platform.
We aim to create supportive, inclusive and kind events where women, trans and non-binary people of different ethnicities, cultures, sexualities, classes, disabilities and religions can unwind together, be creative and have their voices heard.
We run unique, feminist and grassroots events in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow — from intimate creative sessions to cabaret extravaganzas.
Our performance based events showcase women, femme and non-binary talent and we are proud to be the springboard for creatives and artists from marginalised communities to kickstart their career.
Clitbait began at the end of 2018, when two Edinburgh University students Lilah and Laila (the same name in Hebrew and in Arabic!) wanted to create space for intersectional feminist issues but knew a platform could not be ‘intersectional’ with only two voices. So they created Clitbait, with the aim of encouraging a wide range of people to get involved.
Although we now focus on community events, our website holds an archive of beautiful writing, poetry and artwork by women, trans and non-binary creatives and writers – please do check it out.
We’ve been lucky to have many wonderful volunteers over the years who have created beautiful content and planned wonderful events (thank you all!).
