Meet the Clitbait Team: an interview with Robyn Barclay, Communications Officer

Meet the CB team: Robyn Barclay
Name, Pronouns and Role:
Robyn Barclay (she/her), Communications Officer
Fun Fact:
My favourite film (completely un-ironically) is The Lego Batman Movie.
What does intersectional feminism mean to you?
For me, intersectional feminism is about making sure a wide variety of voices are heard, and giving everyone the space to share their experiences, so that we can fix society’s issues in a way that does not only advantage a few, but instead uplifts everyone.
What is your favourite thing about Clitbait?
I really love the community that Clitbait has created, it’s a wonderful creative environment.
What inspires you?
I get a lot out of seeing other people’s art, it’s beautiful to see how others express themselves.
What things do you do outside Clitbait that you are proud of?
I wrote a book earlier this year!
A guilty feminist confession
This is very specific but I absolutely love the part in the In the Heights movie musical when Anthony Ramos sings “don’t make me laugh I’ve been trying all night/ you’ve been shaking your ass for like half of the heights.”
A personal feminist triumph?
I’m really proud of having overcome the mockery of women and women’s interests. There is nothing wrong with being like other girls. Other girls are wonderful – if anything I’d like to be more like them!
