Dear Past Me, sex is not life

Dear Past Me, 

Right now it seems like not having a sex life equates to leading no life at all. All your friends are doing it, and you feel its vacancy. You feel it when they exchange ‘first time’ stories, when they go for check ups at the clinic or when they gush over their newfound sexual discoveries. But your current lack of sex does not make you incomplete. At this age, sex is made to seem like a rite of passage. Without experiencing it, you can’t move on to the next phase of your life. But let me tell you that sex only forms one part of the jigsaw that is your life. There are hundreds of experiences you are yet to have and sex is just one of them. In the meantime, you are a complete person with a full life, with or without sex.
