Dear Pre-Pandemic Me, Don’t ever shrink yourself again…

You started well, but you got lost.  You realised the importance of community; a community you connect with.  In the absence of love, you turned to appearances in a desperate attempt to change your circumstances.  It did not work.  You met the wrong people and did the wrong things, but it was not a waste.  But it did feel like it…

Dear me,

This is not going to go at all how you assumed it would.  Serves you right for making assumptions.

You started well, but you got lost.  You realised the importance of community; a community you connect with.  In the absence of love, you turned to appearances in a desperate attempt to change your circumstances.  It did not work.  You met the wrong people and did the wrong things, but it was not a waste.  But it did feel like it.

Many things went well too, but sometimes they were eclipsed.  You’re going to feel bruised and fragile – if you had trusted your instincts you would’ve been happier, as you already know.

But clarity came.  And things are correct.  You’re up, dusted down and ready to go again, equipped with what you didn’t even know you needed.  Happiness will come to you, happiness is here.

Have fun, laugh, and don’t ever shrink yourself again, for anyone.

Love you.
