“My name is Yilin and I am an image-maker based between London and Hong Kong. I began photographing with a toy camera when I was 15, and I kept photographing as I did my foundation at the Kingston School of Art and then at UAL. I like photography as it feels most honest to me to express different aspects of my identity, my culture, and life experiences through a nuanced lens. I love that it’s a malleable medium: I can either silently observe and let the world unfold itself around me, or build aspects of a world and capture that as if it were real.”
